As COVID-19 infection rates rise, we increasingly hear questions about:

• Furloughs
• What will be the impact when the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) leave provisions expire on December 31
• Can we require staff to get vaccinated as it becomes available
• What curveballs does the State of New York plan to send our way in the New Year

On furloughs, we have a number of sample agreements available from our COVID-19 page (https://nysmasla.wildapricot.org/COVID-19) (see: 'OCM BOCES LR', then folder nbr 4). There you will find these and other resources that we have put together for your use.  We expect changes from the State and possibly the Federal government as they work on new Coronavirus relief packages.  We will discuss these on January 7 and hope our collective knowledge will help everyone navigate the shifting landscape.

We will convene experienced labor relations and personnel professionals to discuss lessons learned and best practices. In typical roundtable fashion, the issues discussed will be what you bring to the table. If you would like to submit a particular topic; please let us know!
